PML’s ‘white paper’ on govt’s 100-day performance

ISLAMABAD, July 3: The Pakistan Muslim League has released a ‘white paper’ on what it termed failure of the government to fulfil promises made in the 100-day programme announced by Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani after securing a unanimous vote of confidence from the National Assembly.

Mushahid elected Vice President of International Political Organization

Islamabad, June 29: Senator Mushahid Hussain, Secretary General of the Pakistan Muslim League has been elected Vice President for Asia of the Centrist Democrat International (CDI), an international grouping of political parties belonging to the centre. A meeting of the CDI was held in Paris on June 27, which was attended by the Chairman of the CDI, former President of Mexico, Vicente Fox and its President, the speaker of the Italian Parliament, Ferdinando Casini.

Mushahid condemns government pressure on GEO, promises to raise issue in Senate

Islamabad, June 13: The PML Secretary General, Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, has strongly condemned official efforts to stifle freedom of expression by banning two popular talk shows of the GEO channel. Senator Mushahid Hussain, who is in Dubai for an interview on Geo's popular talk show 'Meray Mutabiq' hosted by Dr Shahid Masood, said reports of government pressure on Geo to blackout popular anchors were an 'unacceptable infringement on the freedom of expression' and showed an undemocratic mindset of intolerance.

Pakistan and Afghanistan sign MOU

Islamabad, June 11: The first ever Inter-Parliamentary Dialogue between Pakistan and Afghanistan was initiated in Islamabad on June 10 between the Senate Foreign Relations Committee headed by Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed and the International Affairs Committee of the Upper House of Afghanistan, headed by Syed Hamid Gillani.
